Customer Street have ripped more than a few people off with their constant lies. Checkout some info on that here: http://www.tilersforums.co.uk/tiling-forum/18712-bt-customer-street-scam.html
We’ve had SOOOoooo many people email and PM about this Customer Street rip off scam, it’s almost unbelievable.
I was dubbed into handing over money to Customer Street for a website which I was insured could provide me with a Paypal link and Buy It Now button. Not once during the sales call was I told about extra costs so imagine my shock when I called them and was told that this would cost me an extra £600.00. I have contacted Consumer Direct and they said that it is a criminal offence not to tell the customer about hidden charges.
I run an ethical search engine company in Norfolk, and I stunned by the techniques used by Customer Street. Poor quality websites, keywords stuffed all over the site, and very spurious sales techniques. I have reported them to Google through their webmaster SPAM report service, but nothing has happened yet.

Customer street is a total rip off. After the years contract I cancelled by letter and duly stopped the direct debit. 8 Months later they have informed me that they did not get the letter and I owe them over £300. I was promised the site me would bring in leads. I got none. Just junk email and sales calls. Don’t touch this company they do not tell the truth.
Customer Street is probably the biggest scam in this country. Avoid them like the plague.
I have been with Ufindus/Customer Street since 2007 and frankly they are quite hopeless. They originally phoned me up asking if I could “deal with extra business”? Who would say no? And then the pressure started. I was asked to sign up and when I politely said no and hung up, they actually called me back again with a reduced rat so, reluctantly I signed up. My company was just starting out and I felt that I needed as much publicity as possible. Big mistake. I have tried to cancel the account on a few occasions because of no work via them and each time they said oh it will improve etc etc and offering me further discounts. Now after 2 and a half years and absolutely no leads coming via them I took my bank’s advice and cancelled my direct debit. Then they took notice! First of all they asked why so in no uncertain terms I told them why and then I was told that there would have to be a 60 day notice of cancellation. Then my wife took over and amazingly they agreed to an “emergency cancellation”. They still want me to pay a remaining £69 subscription and even though I am reluctant to do so, I’m going to just to get them out of my hair for good.
Do not touch this company and be more reilient than I was!!!
I received a telephone call from BT Customer Street, the call lasted 30 minutes until I had to cut her off. She was extremely pushy and wanted a sale there and then. She told me that my plumbing business would benefit from a website, I told her I needed to speak to my partner. I later got a call from my wife who had a call from the same woman, she was pushy and asked her if she could make decisions on my behalf, my wife told her the cost was too high she then said she could knock off £50.00, but needed payment that afternoon, and would need a credit card payment. Please be aware of this scam, I am just glad alarm bells rang before I gave her my details.
I received a voicemail yesterday from someone from BT looking for a telephone engineer in Cheltenham. I duly returned the call wondering why BT would be looking for telephone engineers when they have their own workforce of 30,000 engineers.
The hard sell went on for 40 minutes with promises that an ad with BT Customer Street would improve my leads. My nearest competitor is over 20 miles away and we pass business back and forth between each other. when the girl finally realised that NO meant No she told me that if I didn’t pay for the ad today that she would pass the opportunity to someone else in my area. She is more than welcome to try as there is noone else in my area.
